Superintendent’s Message

Bracken County Schools is a rural school district comprised of three schools, an Taylor Elementary, Bracken County Middle School and Bracken County High School.  We have the honor of serving approximately 1100 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade.   All three schools provide a challenging, quality educational experience while recognizing students as diverse individuals and enabling them to become self-sufficient life-long learners in a global society.  We take pride in being student centered and data driven with a focus on preparing our students for college and career readiness.  Course offerings include core classes along with CTE courses, performing arts and dual-credit offerings.  We partner with surrounding post-secondary establishments and the area magnet school to help our students develop the skills to be prepared for post-secondary education and the work force.  The school system is an integral part of the community.  We strive to foster positive working relationships with local businesses and community members.  Bracken County Schools is the home of the Polar Bears.  We are rich in tradition and take pride in our heritage.  An effort is made to instill this sense of pride in our graduates.  We look forward to serving the youth of Bracken County.
